Solar Consumer Products of Outstanding Quality
We see a lot of new and exciting products long before they hit the store shelves because we're in the solar energy business. We go to a lot of tradeshows and industry conferences, and it never ceases to amaze me how enthusiastic people are about their new applications. Despite the fact that the year is far from over, we thought we'd share some of these incredible items with you, our loyal readers.
One of the most intriguing items we've seen so far this year comes from a university in the United Kingdom. It's being dubbed the "Sun Trap," and it's causing quite a stir in the international press. It's not really a groundbreaking concept, but it is an inventive use of current technology. It's a handbag made of photovoltaic material on the outside and electroluminescent material on the inside. The interior of the bag lights up when you open it! It is powered by a small battery that is charged throughout the day by the sun. No more looking for your keys in the middle of the night!
The solar panel for notebook computers is another excellent product that we think is extremely useful. This is a fantastic tool for someone who spends a lot of time outside. We've all been in cases where we're away from a power source and our laptop dies. Isn't that the very worst? So long as a light source is open, this product has the ability to solve the problem. Mine will accompany me on my next camping trip!
There are also some fantastic new yard and garden items available. Some of the fantastic garden lighting systems that have recently been launched have piqued my interest. There are small lights that are used to light paths and walkways in gardens. The sun charges them during the day, and they remain illuminated long into the night. New solar-powered rodent repellents are an ideal alternative to using pesticides or traps to keep rodents out of your garden.
These are just a few of the innovative new items to hit the market. Engineers and inventors around the world are working to create some wonderful new products. It's encouraging to see people putting effort and time into creating renewable energy applications. It's just a matter of time before all energy goods are built to be environmentally friendly.
